Taylor’s St. Helena Car Wash was established by Lloyd Taylor, also known as “Popsie” in his third attempt at retirement. He was a traveling pharmacist in the Mid west, retired to St. Helena, opened Taylor’s Refresher in 1949 and then in 1973 he retired from the restaurant to build & operate the only car wash within a 20 mile radius.
Popsie’s grandchildren (the 4th generation of St. Helenans) took over the Car Wash in 2024 and retrofit all the equipment and upgraded to contemporary technological acceptance of credit/debit cards, new compressors, new vacuums, new bill changers and sooo much more…..
